Safety, cops and candy

BOX ELDER, S.D. —

The Box Elder Police Department have been going around for the past several years handing out candy to all the superheros and princesses that are out trick or treating to celebrate Halloween. Officer Heather Monson is very excited to get out and see all of the community members who are hitting the streets to collect candy this holiday night.

Officer Monson said “We are thinking at least 200 kids per community space that we are working, so about 800 bags of candy and stickers being handed out to the community.” she also wants people to know “Just have fun but stay safe, make sure your parents are going through your candy. Don’t eat anything that is home made from a home you do not know. Make sure you are watching out for road safety and things as you are going along.”
