Sabres fall to Helena in overtime

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Badlands Sabres returned to action on Friday for the first time since Oct. 16.

The Sabres hosted the Helena Bighorns.

The game went into overtime with Helena claiming a 3-2 victory.

After a scoreless first period, the Sabres found the back of the net thanks to a goal by Brady Ridnour.

But then the Bighorns answered with two goals to take the lead heading into the third period.

Badlands tied it up in the third with a powerplay goal by Kael Delzer.

The forward from Rapid City now has six goals in 11 games this season for the Sabres.

The game eventually went into overtime and Gavyn Galloway beat Maxim Currie to secure the win for the Bighorns.

Overall, Currie set aside 40 of 43 shots for the Sabres.

The Sabres will continue their weekend series with Helena on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. at the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena.
