Rushmore Mall celebrates National Day of the American Cowboy

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Saturday was the National Day of the American Cowboy. People all over the country take the day to celebrate the Wild West and the way it shaped culture today.

The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Rushmore Mall, and PBR all came together to host a kid’s celebration at the mall.

“It’s been a movement that’s been happening for the last 10 years. It’s been a strong movement overall 50 states,” said Priscilla Dominguez, the Marketing Director at the Civic Center.

There were balloon animals, sweet treats, coloring, and face painting. Kids were also welcomed to strut down a stage and show of their cowboy and cowgirl outfits.

All the activities and entertainment were free to the public.
