Rushmore boys hockey extends winning streak to 7 games

RAPID CITY, S.D. –  The Rushmore Thunder boys hockey team hosted the Yankton Bucks this past weekend and came away with two more wins.

In fact, Rushmore outscored Yankton 21-2 in those two games.

During Sunday’s game, the Thunder defeated the Bucks, 11-2.

Ryan Nolan led Rushmore with three goals and one assist. Six other players also found the back of the net including Seth Stock, Blake DeVries, Kael Delzer, Scott Kenrick, Camden Nayman and Duncan Chisolm.

The Thunder have now won seven in a row after starting the season with four straight losses.

Rushmore head coach Dick Novak says his players are very unselfish.

“Right now, we’re getting production from both of our top lines,” Rushmore Thunder head coach Dick Novak said. “You know Ryan Nolan and Delzer and Martin. Then Camden Nayman, Blake DeVries and Scott Kenrick was on that line this weekend. Both those lines played really good this weekend. So we’re real happy.”

“We just have to get pucks deep in the corners and work hard,” Rushmore defenseman Duncan Chisolm said. “Play as a team and get good passes to each other. It’s been working out lately.”

The Rushmore boys hockey team will host the Watertown Lakers on Saturday, January 12 at 2 p.m. at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center as part of “Hockey Day in South Dakota.”
