Rush paint pottery for a purpose

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Members of the Rapid City Rush put down their hockey sticks and picked up paint brushes. On Wednesday the team headed to “Pottery 2 Paint” to participate in painting food bowls.

The bowls will be displayed at Feeding South Dakota’s empty bowl event, which is a fundraiser for children.

Multiple organizations team up with Feeding South Dakota to paint empty ceramic bowls. The painters are then encouraged to buy a ticket to the empty bowl event. All of the ticket and fundraising proceeds are put towards feeding children.

In Rapid City alone there are over 1,000 children who experience food instability.

The bowls are a way of bringing awareness to the issue and raising funds for the cause. The bowls are in honor of children who go hungry.

The empty bowl event is on April 12, 2019. Tickets can be purchased and donations can be made on the Feeding South Dakota website.
