Rounds, lawmakers urge increase in statutory cap of H-2B visas

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Mike Rounds signed on to a bi-partisan letter from both senate and house members to the Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf.

The lawmakers are urging the administration to immediately increase the statutory cap of H-2B visas for this fiscal year.

The main reason is to get qualified workers into the country.

189 lawmakers have signed the letter which cites the nation’s low unemployment rate, and the growing demand for H-2B workers.

They say American businesses depend on these workers and need a sufficient number of additional visas.
