Robbinsdale Park Pup Crawl draws costumed canines

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The population of Rapid City has been climbing quickly, and local officials are working to get more new residents into parks around town, especially when their furry friends get to join them.

The first annual Pup Crawl took place Saturday at Robbinsdale Park, where human and canine visitors arrived in Halloween style, with costumes and treats galore.

“We have a costume contest so we will be drawing the winner on Monday, and we will be giving away a basket of goodies for everybody,” said Parks and Recreation Specialist Lindsey Myers. “But  it’s just again to get everybody out on the Robbinsdale Trail, it’s about a mile trail just to walk around, have fun, and let your furry friends enjoy themselves. Get some energy out”

Off-leash dog parks in the area include Braeburn Park, Knollowood Drainage Area, Memorial Park East, Robbinsdale Park, Vickie Powers Park, and Wilderness Park.
