Road to Williamsport starts Wednesday for Rapid City Area Little League teams

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The road to a possible spot in the 75th Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA starts this week for four Rapid City area baseball teams.

Bandit Ball, Harney, Canyon Lake and the Rapid City Little League teams are gearing up to compete in the West River Sub-District Tournament which runs July 13-15.

The Bandit Ball Little League team will play Harney in the opening game on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The second game features Canyon Lake and the Rapid City Little League team at 7:30 p.m.

The top two teams will advance to the state tournament coming up July 22-25.

The East River Sub-District Tournament was held last weekend and both Sioux Falls and Pierre punched their tickets to state.

Last year, Sioux Falls defeated Harney in the state championship game and advanced to the Midwest Region Tournament in Indiana.

Both the West River Sub-District Tournament and the State Tournament will take place at the Canyon Lake Little League Field in Rapid City.

Wednesday, July 13

Game 1  –  Bandit Ball vs Harney              5 p.m.

Game 2  –  Canyon Lake vs Rapid City Little League          7:30 p.m.


Thursday, July 14

Game 3  –   Loser of Game 1 vs Loser of Game 2                    5 p.m.

* Game 4  –   Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 2           7:30 p.m.

* (Winner advances to State Tournament)


Friday, July 15

Game 5  –  Winner of Game 3 vs Loser of Game 4

(Winner advances to State Tournament)
