Resurfacing project set to begin Monday

SOUTH DAKOTA, — On Monday, the South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin the first project in a series of surface treatments in Meade, Pennington, and Lawrence counties.

The resurfacing project will include milling and overlay on Sturgis Road in Piedmont to the intersection of Exit 46 and Stage Stop Road and the ramps at Exit 48.

While the project is underway, a single lane of traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. Traffic will also be impacted as Exit 48 will be closed during the day, so traffic will be routed to Exit 46.

Motorists are asked to be aware of traffic changes, work zones, and reduced speeds. The completion date for the project is June 26.
