Regional Health officially becomes Monument Health, joins Mayo Clinic Network
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Regional Health officially becomes Monument Health today, and physicians at the Rapid City hospital are prepping for an equally exciting change.
Coinciding with the name change today, Monument Health will join the Mayo Clinic Health Network.
The partnership is expected to increase the quality of care and access to patients, while keeping them close to home.
One of the many tools at Monument Health’s disposal will be e-consult. This allows local physicians to consult with doctors in the Mayo Network.
“An electronic consult is generated with a secure connection and a Mayo Clinic specialist is assigned that gives a full detailed opinion that goes back to the local provider to discuss with their patient.” said Dr. Heidi Strouth, MD.
A team with the Mayo Clinic has been in the area training the Monument physicians and providers on the network features that go into effect with the name change today.
