Regifting Store sets up pop-up shop
The Regifting Store stationed at Rapid City High School had to close when school did, but due to the high volume of calls, they decided to set up a one day shop.
The Regifting Store set up a pop-up shop at Word of Hope Wesleyan Church in Rapid Valley [1351 Jolly Lane], Thursday.
The Regifting Store is a combined effort of Black Hills Special Services Cooperative and Rapid City Area School District to offer free items to anybody in need.
Thursday morning, volunteers set up the shop of donated, gently used items — including clothing, shoes and household items.
Social distancing will be honored and masks are required to enter the building.
Jeanne Burckhard-Mckenna, Regifting Store Founder, says, “People are in need, not if even more so now, because of the loss of work. they are still trying to recover from the spring closures of a lot of businesses and I anticipate closures again throughout the year and you know, we are just trying to be safe but we also to donate.”
The pop up store is open until 7 p.m. Thursday. Burckhard-Mckenna says, they will host another event in November.
