Reconstruction project on Sheridan Lake Road set to begin Monday

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A $22.9 million reconstruction project on Sheridan Lake Road is set to start Monday and motorists are advised that traffic will be impacted during this time.

The project calls for adding new asphalt, as well as, increasing the lane widths and adding shoulders.

The plan also includes three 12-foot lanes with curb and gutter and grading for a sidewalk on the southside of the road from Spring Canyon Trail to Albertta Drive. Private utilities are currently in the process of relocating their lines in advance of the project.

Motorists are asked to be aware of slowing and merging traffic and reduced speeds. The overall completion date for the project is July 1, 2022.
