RCPD: Two-vehicle crash impacting traffic at Mt. Rushmore Road, Omaha Street

UPDATE– 5:12 pm

According to Sergeant Matt James with the Rapid City Police Department, the crash occurred when a vehicle traveling eastbound ran through a red light and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound.

The call was received by law enforcement just after 7:20 am.

Two people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries and are expected to be okay.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A two-vehicle crash at Mt. Rushmore Road and Omaha Street is impacting traffic as of 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a spokesperson with the Rapid City Police Department, traffic flow is being impacted through the westbound lanes of Omaha and onto Mt. Rushmore Road. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route for the time being.
