RCPD seeks suspect in January 18th casino theft

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The RCPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in a theft investigation that took place at the Jackpot Casino on January 18th.

At around 9:15 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the Jackpot Casino on North Lacrosse Street. The unknown male asked an employee of the business to check for some property he may have left at the casino. While the employee was distracted, the unknown male went behind the counter, opened the cash drawer, and took an undisclosed amount of money from the drawer.

The suspect is described as a skinny Caucasian male, 20 – 25 years in age, wearing blue jeans and a darker colored coat.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the unknown male should contact Det. Barry Young at 394-4134. An anonymous tip can also be submitted by texting the letters ‘RCPD’ and the information to 847411.
