RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Police Department is seeking a suspect in the armed robbery of a casino on the 4000 block of Cheyenne Boulevard late Sunday morning.

On November 22nd at around 10:50 a.m., police were dispatched to the casino for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Officers arrived and made contact with the employee of the business who had been injured in the incident. A medical unit arrived at the location and subsequently transported the employee to the hospital for the treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries.

After speaking to the employee, police learned that an unknown male had entered the casino with a handgun, grabbed the employee, and took her back to the location of the casino’s register to demand money. During the course of the interaction, he assaulted the clerk. He was unable to gain access to the register, however, he did take some property belonging to the employee before fleeing the casino.

The suspect is described as a male in his later 20s to early 30s, wearing a pink or purple hooded sweatshirt, grey mask, and dark colored pants. He is seen exiting a light-colored late-2000s body style Mercury Milan with damage to the front bumper.

Here are surveillance photos of the suspect vehicle:

Anyone with any information on this incident or the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact Detective Dan Trainer at 605-394-4134. An anonymous tip can also be sent by texting the letters ‘RCPD’ and the information to 847411.
