RCPD responds to three separate robberies Sunday night
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Police Department is investigating three separate robberies that took place in the evening of January 3.
For the first robbery, police were dispatched around 7 p.m. to 3609 Sturgis Road for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.
Police made contact with an employee of the business when they arrived. The employee told them that two unknown males entered the store and began picking up bottles of liquor, and one of the males brandished a handgun at the clerk before both exited the store.
The suspect with the gun is described as a Native American male standing around six feet tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. The second suspect is described as a Native American male standing around 6’1″ and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

The second robbery took place at 2421 West Main Street where police were dispatched around 7:10 p.m. for a report of a robbery involving two victims.
Police made contact with the first victim who stated she had just left the restaurant when she was confronted by an unknown male who brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property, but the victim refused and the male walked toward the business. The male suspect then approached a male in the parking lot, brandished the handgun, and demanded property from the second victim.
Witnesses described the suspect as a male in his twenties, wearing a blue plaid jacket, blue jeans, and a blue bandana.
Police were dispatched around 7:15 p.m. to 1301 West Omaha Street for a report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival police made contact with an employee of the business who told them that an unknown male subject had entered the business, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from the cash register.
The employee hid and the suspect was unsuccessful in getting money from the register.
The suspect is described by witnesses as a male in his late twenties, standing about 5’10” tall, wearing a grey windbreaker, dark pants, and a black mask.
