RCPD investigating shooting near North Maple Avenue and Van Buren Street
UPDATE: According to a statement from RCPD Chief Don Hedrick, around 10:00 a.m. RCPD, Rapid City Fire Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the intersection of North Maple Avenue and Van Buren Street in response to a report of a male in his 20’s being shot in the area.
That person has been transported to the hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.
Witnesses described a white Cadillac with paper license plates had left the area travelling south. RCPD officers spotted a Cadillac fitting that description at the intersection of East Boulevard and East Boulevard North and conducted a traffic stop, resulting in one man being detained.
