UPDATE (9 p.m.) — Lt. Jim Bussell of RCFD has told NewsCenter1 that this is the second suspicious fire on Saint Patrick Street in a similar time frame. The first fire RCFD is investigating took place in another unoccupied home on Christmas Day.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Fire Department put out a fire in a mobile home that investigators have since deemed suspicious.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. crews stopped the forward progress of a fire at 1515 East Saint Patrick Street. When the main fire was put out, firefighters began removing siding and skirting to expose any hidden hot spots and flames.

Initial investigations indicate that that fire is suspicious, but more work needs to be done before investigators can determine what caused the fire.

RCFD said that the home was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported.
