RCAS has over 70 job openings

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Area Schools is trying to fill several positions for the upcoming school year.

They opened career opportunities in administrative work, teaching, coaching and more. The job search looks a bit different for RCAS this hiring season because of the ongoing pandemic. Although it looks different, there is no shortage of job opportunities within the district.

“Currently we have 75 open positions, that’s going to include our certified staff, so our teachers as well as our classified staff, which includes our bus drivers, bus aids, paraprofessional, clerical positions and all of our hourly staff,” says recruiter, Christina Vissia.

RCAS is offering everything from entry-level positions that require a high school diploma or GED, to advanced positions requiring higher education.

Vissia adds, “so anything over part-time for us would include a full benefits package and a competitive salary. That can all be found on our website.”

Salaries range depending on the job and some positions have negotiable salaries.

In terms of training, RCAS shares that they can help when it comes to getting certain certifications and taking required testing.

“Our bus drivers, we train them,” Vissia said. “You’re not required to have a CDL to be a bus driver with us. We will train you and help you get the necessary certifications for that.”

RCAS encourages people to apply for the positions via their website here.
