RCAS Board of Education petition deadline approaching

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Area Schools would like to remind all potential Board of Education candidates that petitions are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29.

The District strongly encourages candidates to file their petitions before the deadline. Candidates who wait until the deadline will not have the opportunity to correct mistakes or gather additional signatures, if necessary.

RCAS says that petitions should be delivered to either the 2nd or 6th floor of the Rapid City Educational Center building.

Both Areas 3 and 6 are up for election for 3-year terms, and Area 2 is up for election for a 2-year term. The drawing for ballot order will be conducted on Marth 29 at 5 p.m. on the 6th floor lobby of the RCEC building.
