RC Rush gearing up for physical weekend series with Idaho

Rush will host the Steelheads on Friday and Saturday

RAPID CITY, S.D. – With just three weekends left in the regular season, teams in the ECHL are preparing for a final playoff push.

Idaho and Tulsa have already clinched a playoff spot in the Mountain Division.

But the Rapid City Rush are still in the mix.

The Rush recently won five out six games against the Utah Grizzlies and now trail Kansas City by seven points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Mountain Division.

The Rush open a five-game series against the Idaho Steelheads starting on Friday night with the first of two games at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Rush are just 3-9 against the Steelheads this season.

But this will be their first meeting since Rapid City traded for several new players earlier this month.

“They haven’t seen our new players yet and it should be a great series,” Rapid City Rush head coach Daniel Tetrault said. “Five games series. Like I said, one game at a time. But we just have to stick to our structure, stay disciplined and keep playing hard. The first 10 minutes here at home are going to be crucial. We have to come out hard. We have to move our feet and do the little things. But like I said you have to limit mistakes.”
