RC Central searching for a new football coach, as well as, a new volleyball coach
RAPID CITY, S.D. -A search is underway for two new head coaches at Rapid City Central High School.
Central Activities Director Jordan Bauer announced on Wednesday that Erik Iverson will no longer be the head football coach effective immediately.
Iverson has been the head football coach for the Cobblers for the last three years.
Before that, he was an assistant coach with Central since 1992.
In Iverson’s second season, the Cobblers went 4-5 in the regular season.
But this past year, Central finished 0-9 and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Overall, Iverson finished with a record of 6-23.
Meanwhile, Jeanne Deming has resigned as the head volleyball coach at Rapid City Central.
Coach Deming has decided to step down after four seasons with the Cobblers due to a new practice that the Rapid City Area Schools will be implementing this fall regarding administrators serving in coaching roles.
Deming is currently the assistant principal at South Middle School.
Deming leaves the Central volleyball program with a record of 48-71.
Jordan Bauer said the search for both a new football and volleyball coach will begin immediately.
