RC Central and Stevens split soccer doubleheader

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Central girls and the Stevens boys came away with victories on Tuesday night during a soccer doubleheader at Sioux Park.

The Central girls upset the Raiders 2-1.

After falling behind, Shea Ellender scored a goal late in the first half and Stevens tied the match at 1-1.

But just a few minutes into the second half, Kylea Becker scored a goal from midfield and the Cobblers went onto upset the Raiders.

Central improves to 8-2 on the season while the Raiders fall to 8-1-1.

 

Meanwhile, the Rapid City Stevens boys defeated Central for the second time this season, 2-1.

After a scoreless first half, junior Ryan Gaughan scored the first goal of the match for the Raiders.

Stevens is now 8-2 on the season and currently 3rd in the Class AA standings.

Central falls to 2-5-3 and 11th in the standings.
