Rapid Ride to resume Saturday service operations

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid Ride will resume its Saturday service this week on Saturday.

Dial-A-Ride will also resume its services.

Rapid Transit put the brakes on Saturday service at the end of May, which was when all operations were suspended after three drivers tested positive for COVID-19.

Monday to Friday services resumed in mid-July. Until recently, Saturday service was halted for staffing reasons.

“It was a combination of several different types of things, not necessarily even open positions, said Megan Gould, the Division Manager of the Rapid Transit System. “We did have three test positive a while back and those were part of it and then we also had quite a few out on other reasons.”

The Saturday hours will be the same before the shutdown, Rapid Ride will run from 9:50 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., and Dial-A-Ride will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
