Rapid City Stevens senior to continue athletic career at the University of Minnesota

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Another athlete at Rapid City Stevens High School recently announced plans to continue her academic and athletic careers at the Division I level.

Alissa Fuelling signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in gymnastics at the University of Minnesota.

The Stevens senior will compete on bars for the Gophers.

Fuelling is a Level 10 gymnasts who competes for Just Jymnastics in Rapid City.

She won the bars title at the 2018 All-American Invitational and qualified for regionals where she finished second.

Fuelling also had the top score of 9.525 on bars at the 2019 state championships.

Fuelling is excited about competing for the University of Minnesota.

“Ever since I was little, we’ve been going to gymnastics meets up there and I honestly fell in love with the area,” Alissa Fuelling said. “Then about freshman year, I started realizing that’s where I wanted to go and I’ve known the coach there since I was young like six years old. So that was a good connection.”
