Rapid City sets record for February building permits

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City set a record for building permit valuation for the month of February.

The city issued 173 permits last month worth $46.25 million.

The previous best February was in 2013 with $31.6 million.

Last month’s top-valued permit went to Monument Health for its “Rehab and Critical Care Hospital” on Promise Road, which was $24.6 million.
