Rapid City Rush unveil new jerseys during “Fan Fest”

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush hosted “Fan Fest” on Saturday which served as the official kickoff to the 2020 – 21 ECHL season.

The event featured live music along with interactive events and booths set up throughout the arena floor.

Plus, many of the kids were decked out in their Halloween costumes.

Rapid City Rush head coach Daniel Tetrault also announced the signing of two more players, Avery Peterson and Alex Rodriguez.

“We upgraded definitely at the forward position with the signing of Avery Peterson from Atlanta and Alex Rodriguez from Norfolk,” Rush head coach Daniel Tetrault said. “Two tremendous players with offensive capabilities. Rodriguez was the top scorer in Norfolk last season. And Peterson scored 18 as a centerman and he’s 6-foot-3. So it just adds depth at the forward position.”

With the season set to start on Dec. 11, Rapid City Rush President Todd Mackin unveiled the teams new jerseys and talked about the safety protocols in place for the upcoming season.

“It’s going to be a continual season of making sure we’re doing things right,” Todd Mackin said. “That’s not just with our on the ice performance, but it’s also the things we’re doing off the ice. Staying safe. Doing the right things. Going to the right places. Not putting ourselves in position to have the virus affect our team, our front office staff or frankly any of our fans in this community.”
