Rapid City Rush trade for Avery Peterson

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush acquired Avery Peterson on Tuesday from the Florida Everblades in a three-team trade.

Meanwhile, the Rush will send Jake Wahlin and future considerations to the Wichita Thunder as part of the trade.

Plus, the Thunder are sending forward Matteo Gennaro to Florida to complete the three-team trade.

Peterson played in 12 games for Florida and has five goals and five assists.

He played for the Rush during the 2020-21 season and was third on the team with 50 points in 71 games.

Wahlin departs Rapid City having appeared in 59 games for the Rush, where he scored 15 goals along with 20 assists.

The Rush will open a three-game series against the Utah Grizzlies starting on Wednesday, March 30.
