Rapid City Rush open the season with a victory over Tulsa

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush dropped the puck on a new season Friday by hosting the Tulsa Oilers.

Rapid City fell behind 1-0 after the first period.

But the Rush rallied to beat the Oilers, 4-2.

Rush head coach Scott Burt earned a win in his head coaching debut.

Hudson Elynuik led Rapid City with a goal and and assist.

Meanwhile, David Tendeck was outstanding between the pipes. He stopped 42 out of 44 shots for the Rush.

The Rush and the Oilers will square off again on Saturday.

The Puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. at the Monument Ice Arena.
