Rapid City Rush “Fan Fest” returns to The Monument for the fourth year
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Now that we’re officially into fall, we’re that much closer to the start of the Rapid City Rush hockey season! To get fans fired up, the Rush are hosting their fourth annual Rapid City Rush Fan Fest.
WHERE: Monument Ice Arena
WHEN: Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHAT: Fan Fest is a family-friendly event. There’ll be axe throwing, hosted by Axe-It-Out, pumpkin painting, and interactive booths. Nugget will also be there, along with Rush staff, coaches, and even a player. The team will announce a new signing, and whose jersey is being retired this season. There will also be a live question-and-answer session with the team’s new in-game host.
WHY: The fourth-annual event is designed to get everyone fired up for Rush hockey.
“We’re only a few weeks away from the start, so if we can get people excited like we are, you know,” said Head Coach Scott Burt. “This is fun for everyone.”
This will be Scott Burt’s second season coaching the Rush. He led the team to a record of 36-25-6-5 and 83 standings points, which is the most the franchise has ever recorded in the ECHL.
They’re hoping to build on the momentum going into this season, with a strong returning line – including fan-favorite Logan Nelson, who set a career-high in goals.
Although we are still a few weeks out from the first game, Coach Burt – and the entire Rush family – are excited to get started.
