Rapid City Rush defeat Indy to win their third straight

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush are currently locked in tight battle with the Utah Grizzlies for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Rush were hoping to make up some ground on Friday against the Grizzlies as they continued their four-game series with the Indy Fuel.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Rush rallied to beat the Fuel, 3-2.

Tyson Empey scored with 2:58 left in the game to secure the win for Rapid City.

Dave Tendeck set aside 29 of 31 shots on net for the Rush.

Rapid City improves to 32-28-3-1 on the season.

Since Utah defeated Allen on Friday, the Rush still trail the Grizzlies by .039 with eight games remaining in the regular season.

Rapid City will face off against Indy again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

The Rush will also continue their annual “Military Appreciation Weekend” with more festivities on Saturday.
