Rapid City Rush brings in a new partner

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush held a press conference today to announce the departure of long-time owners, Barry, and Luke Peterson. Majority manager Scott Mueller brought in a new partnership, Spire Sports Entertainment.

Spire Sports Entertainment has had success in the market of professional car racing. Just as of last fall, they formed their own Nascar racing team. Spire is a leading athletic management and corporate consulting agency. This is their first time taking on hockey, but they are confident in their abilities.

“It’s just about building a culture and out of that culture spawns really good ideas. People buy into that and want to support it,” said Jeffrey Dickerson, co-owner of Spire.

The agency is based in Charlotte, N.C. where the owners reside. Dickerson said that Rapid City has the community and spirit that he is looking for. He noticed from the very first time he visited Rapid City, that the culture was one of unity.

“With their expertise and our product, it’s a good combination. We are very very excited about it,” said Mueller.

The goal is to get a $1 million in sponsorships and the Rush believe with these changes they will get there.
