Rapid City road construction projects near completion

RAPID CITY, S.D. – There is some noticeable construction taking place in Rapid City, but the end is near according to contractors.

Weather conditions have not been favorable through the summer and autumn months, but several of the projects are reportedly finished or on their final stages.

“We’ve been able to complete a number of projects, the contractors that we’ve had out on the projects have been working very diligently to bring things up to schedule, and we’ve had a few projects where we’ve had to move into the winter months, or onto 2020 but generally speaking, we’ve kept most of those projects on schedule,” said Darrell Shoemaker, Communications Coordinator for the City of Rapid City.

The remaining projects left to complete include Fulton Street reconstruction, Disk Drive and Haines Avenue reconstruction and Willow Drive, Ivy Avenue and East Fairlane Drive reconstruction.

The status of city projects can be viewed online at rcgov.org.
