Rapid City Regional Airport breaks passenger number records again in July

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Regional Airport reported record breaking passenger numbers for the month of July as well as cumulatively for year-to-date 2019.

In particular, July was the highest single month on record with 44,127 boardings yielding a 15.1% increase over July 2018.

Total passengers this year to date through July, 387,410, also surpassed the same period 2018 by 12.5%.

“We are experiencing tremendous growth right now, based on the air service development efforts our staff has made in the past few years.  It is great to see,” stated Airport Executive Director Patrick Dame.  “I can’t say enough how much I appreciate all the hard work from our staff, tenants and most importantly, our customers who fly locally.”

Beginning September 4, the airport will offer nonstop, daily year-round service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
