Rapid City police warn fake bills are being passed around the area

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Police Department is warning the public that they’ve had a number of fake bills reported in the last week.

“We’ve seen several large bills passed fraudulently in Rapid City,” the department said on Monday.

The bills in this instance are marked “For Motion Picture Purposes” in several places.

The police department is advising the community to inspect cash being used in transactions, especially larger bills.

They’ve also asked that anyone who encounters the fraudulent bills report it by calling 605-394-4131.
