Rapid City police investigating body found in Thomson Park picnic shelter


RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City police are investigating the unattended death of a man found in Thomson Park on Friday morning.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Feb. 22, police were called to the park after a report that there was an unconscious male subject in the picnic shelter. Upon arrival they determined that the individual, thought to be in his mid-30s, was obviously deceased.

The male’s identity is being withheld until proper notification of next-of-kin can take place. At this time, the investigation has not turned up any signs of foul play, however an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man’s manner and cause of death.
