Rapid City police in search of armed robbery suspect

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Early this morning around 2:20 A.M., the Rapid City Police Department was called to a 1601 Haines Avenue for a report on an armed robbery.

When the police arrived, they made contact with an employee of the business who described the unknown male suspect to be Caucasian and around  5’6″ tall, 150 pounds with glasses. The suspect who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with black pants, black gloves and black shoes, entered the store with a handgun and demanded that the clerk open the register.

After the clerk complied, the suspect grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the register and fled the store to the south on foot.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspected is advised to contact Sgt. Kelvin Masur at 394-4134. An anonymous tip can be sent by texting the letters “RCPD” along with the information to 847411.
