UPDATE: Rapid City Police Department no longer searching for Dustin Way
UPDATE: The Rapid City Police Department have made contact with Dustin Way and are no longer seeking the public’s assistance on his location.

“Detectives have developed a number of new leads in the case and remain active in their efforts to hold the person responsible accountable for their actions. We look forward to issuing a public update on the progress of the case in the coming days, when appropriate.”
UPDATE: Rapid City Police Department has contacted Colten Triebwasser, and is no longer searching for him as a person of interest in the case. Dustin Way is still being sought by police.
Police said that when dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of North 7th street, they discovered an “obviously deceased” adult male with a gunshot wound to his torso.
Police are actively working to locate two persons-of-interest in the case; 30-year-old Dustin Way of Rapid City, and 26-year-old Colten Triebwasser of Rapid City.
Police said that the shooting does not appear to be random in nature, and there is no evidence to suggest any risk of danger to the public.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, and the investigation is being conducted as a joint effort between Rapid City Police Department and the Pennington county Sheriff’s office.
