Rapid City police currently searching for suspects in second hit and run crash

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Authorities are currently searching for suspects in a second hit and run crash that happened in Rapid City within the last hour.

The RCPD says one crash occurred on Oak Avenue and Lynnwood Drive with three suspects fleeing the scene. The second crash, which is unrelated to the first, occurred on Omaha Street and 2nd Street. Authorities say that crash involved at least three vehicles and started when the suspect vehicle rear-ended another car, which then crashed into at least one vehicle in front of it.

Two female suspects ran from the scene headed south. According to RCPD Spokesperson Brendyn Medina, the suspect vehicle had windshield damage possibly indicating that one of the females was not wearing a seat belt.

Police have not confirmed whether there have been any injuries reported in either crash.

They’ve asked that anyone with information about the whereabouts or identities of the suspects contact them at 605-394-4131.
