Rapid City Police arrest minor after car, foot chase

RAPID CITY S.D. — The Rapid City Police Department arrested one minor on Saturday night after a car chase which ended with the suspect being chased on foot.

According to Sgt. Alexander with the RCPD, it all started when police pulled over a vehicle in Star Village for a traffic stop around 8:35 p.m. Police then determined that the vehicle was stolen. The suspect and their passenger then fled the scene, leading police on a brief chase.

The car chase ended when the suspect crashed into a parked trailer on Crescent Drive. From there, the suspect fled on foot down the hill toward the area of Kansas City Street.

Police then caught up with the minor and placed them under arrest. They’re charged with eluding law enforcement, obstruction, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
