Rapid City police arrest man for trying to solicit murder

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City police say they’ve arrested a man for trying to solicit a murder.

The man, Christopher Conaway, allegedly asked an individual to kill someone in exchange for personal information the killer could use to steal identities.

The RCPD investigated a report on the solicitation on May 10, and made the arrest of Conaway, who is 43, on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say that they found various pieces of evidence during the investigation that corroborated the report.

They also say they’re being careful about releasing information about the case in order to protect the identity of the victims involved. Conaway offered the personal information of two individuals that could be used by the killer to steal their identities.
