Rapid City Parks and Recreation looking to fill summer positions

RAPID CITY, S.D. — It’s still winter, but Rapid City Parks and Recreation is looking to fill various seasonal jobs to help maintain parks and pools during the summer.

With jobs for people with various levels of experience, Parks and Recreation has positions for first-time jobs seekers, and those who just enjoy being outdoors.

“It takes a little bit to get things going for our seasonal hiring,” says Scott Anderson, Rapid City Parks Division Manager. “We like to get started early so we know what are crew is going to be for the year. We hire anywhere from high school kids all the way up to retired guys.”

Lifeguards are also needed for the City’s pools.

To qualify to be a lifeguard, you must be at least 15-years-old, and have a current Red Cross lifeguard certification, or the ability to get it.
