Rapid City murder case moves quickly, trial date set

The woman accused of killing her nephew appears in court Friday

The Rapid City woman accused of stabbing her nephew to death in December is heading to trial in May.

In court Friday, Judge Matthew Brown set the trial for Lorraine Swallow, 33, for the week of May 20.

Swallow is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Tyrell Bull Bear, 28, of Rapid City whom she stabbed multiple times out of what she claims was self defense.

Swallow remains in the Pennington County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
