Rapid City municipal elections are right around the corner

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Tuesday, Rapid City released a list of important dates that potential candidates for the June municipal elections will need to keep in mind.

If you’re considering running, you can pick up an election packet, including the petition form to be included on the ballot, at the city finance office at 300 6th Street beginning Friday. Then this coming Sunday, March 1, you can begin collecting signatures. Petitions are due no later than March 31, which is also the last day to withdraw as a candidate.

If you need to register to vote, you have until May 18.

Early voting begins on April 17, and concludes at 5 p.m. on June 1, the evening before the general election.
