Rapid City Marshals defeat the Topeka Tropics in season opener

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Marshals opened the regular season on Saturday with a convincing win over the Topeka Tropics, 46-25.

The Marshals grabbed the early lead with a seven-yard touchdown pass from Bobby Froehlich to Demetrius Davis. That made it 7-0 after the extra point.

Then on the ensuing kickoff, Andre Taylor was hit hard by Raphael Turner knocking the ball loose.

Devonte Tinsley grabbed the ball and ran it in for the touchdown giving the Marshals a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.

Rapid City never trailed in the game.

The Marshals will look to stay undefeated as they host the Sioux City Bandits on Saturday, April 9.

The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. at the Summit Arena.
