Rapid City man ID’d in fatal highway crash

PICKSTOWN, S.D. – A Rapid City man has been identified as the person who died in a one-vehicle crash east of Pickstown on Nov. 14. Two other people were seriously injured.

David Williams, Jr., 37, of Rapid City, was pronounced dead at the crash site. He was driving an F-150 west on South Dakota Highway 46 when the truck left the roadway to the right, came back onto the road and eventually rolled.

Williams and another man were ejected, and a woman was partially ejected.

The two passengers, who are both 26 years old, each sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital in Wagner. They are Timothy Waswick of Minot, North Dakota and Katie Heikkinen of Beloit, Wisconsin.

No one was wearing a seat belt, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol. The crash is under investigation.
