Rapid City man arrested on rape, child porn charges

Rapid City, S.D. — Rapid City Police have arrested 30-year-old Tell Cadotte on Thursday after a joint investigation substantiated claims that he was having inappropriate contact with a minor.

The investigation began on January 2, after a police report was filed, details of which are being withheld out of respect for the child victims.

On February 2, local law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at Cadotte’s residence on 6th Avenue in Rapid City, finding a number of evidentiary items.

Cadotte has been arrested for one count of Sexual Contact with a Child Less Than 16, five counts of First Degree Rape, and 19 counts of Possession/Manufacturing/Distributing Child Pornography.

Police continue to investigate whether there are additional victims in this case.

The RCPD, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, and South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation assisted in the investigation.
