Rapid City man arrested in connection with attempted robbery and attempted rape

RAPID CITY, S.D. — 27 year-old Quintez Provancial has been arrested for attempted robbery of a business at 1109 West Omaha Street, and attempted rape of a victim at the business.

At approximately 12:45 am on March 19, 2019 police were dispatched to the business for a report of an attempted rape. Upon arrival police made contact with the victim and were informed a male patron had assaulted her and attempted to force himself on her in the bathroom.  While leaving the scene he stole the victims cell phone and attempted to take cash from the business cash register.

A description was obtained of the suspect and the police located him in the 300 block of Kansas City Street. The victim positively identified Provancial as the suspect, and a search of Provancial’s person turned up the victims cell phone.

Provancial is facing charges of Second Degree Robbery, Second Degree Rape, and False Imprisonment.
