Rapid City man arrested for manslaughter

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A man has been arrested and faces a charge of second-degree manslaughter for pushing another man down an embankment.

Rapid City Police Department responded to a call at a Mountain View Road address at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, finding an unresponsive 38-year-old Schyler Swan of Rapid City. Swan was not breathing when police found him, and he died on the way to the hospital.

When an autopsy revealed that Swan died of a brain bleed police began investigating the circumstances of Swan’s death.

Police spoke with witnesses and determined that Swan was pushed down the embankment by 51-year-old Thomas Tesch of Rapid City.

Police soon found Tesch and placed him under arrest for second degree manslaughter. He has since been placed at the Pennington County Jail.
