Rapid City looks to expand snow removal area in case of declared snow emergency

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City is looking to expand snow removal services in the event of a declared snow emergency.

The Public Works Department has approved the first reading of the amended ordinance. The addition calls for an expansion of the downtown core snow removal district, westward to West Boulevard.

From north to south, the ordinance would still go from Omaha to Kansas City Street, eastward to 5th Street.

The ordinance now goes to City Council Monday night.
